Ingredients:
- 2 pounds of ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon of powdered onion
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- 1 1/2 cups of saltine crackers, crumbled (1 pack of crackers, approximately)
- 1/2 teaspoon of powdered garlic
- 1/2-1 teaspoon of Italian herbs
For the gravy:
- (10.75 oz.) cans of condensed mushroom cream soup
- 1/2 cup of milk
Flour, for coating
Freshly ground pepper, as desired, and Salt.
Instructions:
Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
Combine in a bowl, mix 2 lbs minced beef, 1 1/2 cups crumbled saltine crackers, one cup whole milk, 1/2 tsp Italian herbs, 1/2 tsp powdered garlic, 1/2 tsp powdered onion, 1/4 tsp cayenne, salt, and pepper.
Shape the mixture into 1/2-inch-thick hamburger steaks. Then dredge them in flour.
Then brown your steaks in a skillet over medium-high heat, and transfer them to a baking dish.
In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 cans of condensed mushroom soup and 1 1/2 cups of whole milk. Pour this mixture over the steaks in the baking dish.
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes, or until the steaks are fully cooked and the gravy is bubbling.
