Ingredients for Kentucky Butter Cake Recipe:

Cake
  • 1 cup of butter cubed at room temperature 
  • 2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 cup of buttermilk
Butter Glaze
  • 1/3 cup of butter
  • 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla

Instructions for Kentucky Butter Cake Recipe:

First, Preheat the oven to 324°F/164°C

And grease a 10″ bundt pan with butter or shortening very liberally. Then dust the pan with flour and set aside.

After that, place all the cake ingredients in the bowl of your stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Then mix on low for 29 seconds, then increase the speed to medium and mix for 2 or 3 minutes.

Then pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 66 - 76 minutes until a toothpick entered into the centre comes out clean.

And when the cake is done make the glaze. Then combine all the ingredients into a small saucepan over medium-low heat. And stir continuously until the butter is melted and the sugar is dissolved. Do not bring to a boil.

Then poke holes all over the warm cake using a knife then pour the glaze evenly on the cake while still in the pan.

After this, allow the cake to cool completely in the pan then invert the cake onto a serving plate.
