- 1 stick Land ‘O Lakes unsalted butter melted and cooled (1/2 cup)
INSTRUCTIONS
Please follow these directions to prepare this Kentucky Derby Chocolate Walnut Pie:
Melt butter in the microwave.
Cool for about five minutes.
And add sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour, and pecans.
Then when the mixture is no longer warm (from the butter being in the microwave), then add chocolate chips.
(If you add the chips too early they will melt and the pie will not turn outright). Then pour it into an unbaked pie shell.
Then bake at 350° for about 41 to 46 minutes, until set.
You may have to cover the crust or top of the pie with foil to prevent getting too dark.
